PURPOSE:To provide an antitumor agent containing hot-water extract of FUKUROTAKE (Volvariella volvacea) as an active component. CONSTITUTION:FUKUROTAKE (fruit body or mycelia) is crushed and preliminarily extracted with a phosphate buffer solution at or below room temperature to remove foreign materials. The unextracted component containing the objective antitumor substance is separated by filtration or centrifugal separation, etc., and extracted with hot water. The amount of water used in the extraction process is 1-1,000pts., preferably 5-100pts. per 1pt. of the FUKUROTAKE and the extraction is carried out at 50-150 deg.C, preferably 80-100 deg.C for 20 min-20hr. The hot-water extraction is repeated 1-10 times, the extracted liquid is separated by filtration or centrifugal separation and the residue is added with water of the aforementioned amount and subjected to repeated extraction. The product is concentrated to obtain the objective antitumor substance. The agent can be administered by oral administration or intravenous injection. |
