PURPOSE:To increase a printing quantity and obtain a clear image, by supporting a sublimable or evaporable due by a porous resin layer provided on a gas-permeable film. CONSTITUTION:A sublimable or evaporable dye 2 and a resin 3 are applied to a gas-permeable film 1 in a mixing ratio (on a solid component basis) of 1:3. A heating element 4 is brought into contact with the inner side of the body thus obtained, and the dye is sublimed or evaporated by heating according to an image signal, and the gas thus generated is caused to penetrate through the gas-permeable film 1, whereby a dye image is formed on a receiving paper 7 disposed in proximity to the outer surface of the gas-permeable film 1. The dye at heated parts is sublimed or evaporated to be the gas, which penetrates through the gas-permeable film 1, leaving only a resin layer in the form of a porous thin resin film. The losses of the dye are sequentially compensated for from a heating container. Therefore, the quantity of printing on the receiving paper is increased, and clear image can be obtained. |
