The device (10) has a management unit (11) generating gross time stamping data for an event provoking the activation of the device. The unit generates end time stamping data, formulated relatively with respect to a time stamping of the event, for subsequent events produced during the activation period of the device. The gross and end data present precision in the order of seconds and a hundredth of a second, respectively. An independent claim is also included for a method for storing events in real time.
