"Printer" A printing apparatus is provided which consists of an ink applicator spaced from the printing substrate. The printing mark is made upon the substrate by a fine stream or spray of ink, which stream or spray is provided electrostatically. An electrical field is established between the substrate and the applicator and the ink is drawn towards the substrate where it forms a spray of electrically charged droplets. The applicator of the invention consists of a nozzle having an extending porous wick which allows for improved flow of ink and more precise and uniform application without blurring.
