PURPOSE:To enable elimination of a clamp and an unclamp command during replacement of a tool, by a method wherein a tool engaging and disengaging means, capable of being removably locked to the engaging head of a tool inserted in the insertion hole of a main spindle, is mounted on the main spindle. CONSTITUTION:A containing hole 32, opened to the lower end part of a small bore 14a, is formed in a main spindle 7 in a direction extending at right angles with the axis of the main spindle 7. A stop pin 33 is engaged with the containing hole 32 movably in the direction of a hole axis, and the stop pin 33 is energized toward the center of the main spindle 7 through the force of a spring 34. The tip part of the stop pin itself is brought into contact with a stepped part 32a in a state in that the tip part is protruded in the small bore 14a through the cut slit of a clamper 24. The tip part of the stop pin 33 is formed in the shape of a rounded curve, and is formed such that it is engageable with a engaging head 16a of a tool 16 being inserted in and pulled off from an insertion hole 15. Thus, when a tool is replaced, the tool can be previously unclamped before the tool is grasped by means of a replacing arm. |
