PURPOSE:To prevent stagnation and sticking of a developing agent and occurrence of a depletion layer in a toner concentration detecting section so as to obtain high- quality pictures, by providing a toner concentration detecting means on the stirring and carrying path of a stirring and carrying means in a state where the toner concentration detecting means and stirring and carrying means are provided closely to each other. CONSTITUTION:A developing agent stirring and carrying area A is bent upward so that the area A can be communicated with a developing agent supplying path C3 provided above the area A. Therefore, the section of a screw 4 set within the area A is also bent upward and the screw 4 is rotationally driven under a condition where the screw 4 is pushed against the inner wall of the area A where a detecting window 13 is provided by the elasticity of the screw 4. In addition, a toner concentration detecting means B is provided in the developing agent stirring and carrying area A. Therefore, various conditions, such as quick transportation of the developing agent to a toner concentration detecting section necessary for controlling the toner concentration, an appropriate toner stirred and mixed conditions at the detecting section, presence of a prescribed quantity of the developing agent necessary for detection in the detecting section, and uniformity of the density of the developing agent can be satisfied. |
