PURPOSE:To prevent color misregistration in accordance with various changes in the size of a recording paper, by determining a position for forming a record dot corresponding to a control mark position on the basis of a signal obtained by reading the control mark, and positioning the other record dots on the basis of each predetermined recording paper feed quantity. CONSTITUTION:Dots represented by shaded circles correspond to control marks, and even when paper size is changed, recording is performed by reading the control marks, so that the dots are formed at positions accurately following up to the change in paper size, through the paper size change itself is not detected. On the other hand, dots represented by blank circles are formed on the basis of each predetermined recording paper feed quantity, independently of the change in the size of the recording paper. The feed quantity of the recording paper can be detected by a method wherein the rotating quantity of a roller engaged with the paper being fed is detected by an encoder or a method wherein the number of pulses spplied to a pulse motor for feeding the paper is counted. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent, with sufficient accuracy, color misregistration in a recording paper feeding direction in multicolor recording, even when the size of the recording paper is changed due to elongation or contraction of the paper. |
