PURPOSE:To perform rapid motion of replacing a tool, by a method wherein, through a single drive motor, a Geneva mechanism, a cylinder cam mechanism, and an end surface cam mechanism are motioned, a replacing shaft is axially slid and rotated, and a replacing arm is opened and closed. CONSTITUTION:A replacing shaft 60, slidably and rotatably supported to a main spindle head (retainer) 2, is formed in a hollow manner, and a control shaft 76 is insertedly engaged internally of the replacing shaft. The control shaft 76 is connected to each replacing arm so that each replacing arm is opened and closed through axial movement of the control shaft 76. With a drive motor 87 run, a rotary shaft 85 is rotated, an end surface cam mechanism (an end surface cam 108), a cylinder cam mechanism (a cylinder cam 88) and a Geneva mechanism (A geneva gear 96) are respectively motioned. Through actuation of the end surface cam mechanism, the replacing arm is opened and closed, and through actuation of the cylinder cam mechanism, a replacing shaft 60 is axially slid. Further, through actuation of the Geneva mechanism, the replacing shaft 60 is rotated. This constitution causes smooth replacement of a given tool with the aid of the motor 87. |
