发明名称 CONSISTENCY MEASURING APPARATUS
摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To enable decision on a proper exchange timing, by measuring the consistency of an small amount of grease based on a absorbance ratio of infrared rays to learn the degree of deterioration in the grease of an operator rarely used or the like. CONSTITUTION:A sample thinly applied on a plate made of bromo-potassium is set in a sample chamber 1 and infrared rays 13 of a light source section 12 pass through it to measure a transmission factor with a detector section 14. An absorption wavelength attributed to a molecular skeleton of base oil of a grease to be measured and a viscosity intensifier is selected on a wavelength selecting section 15 beforehand to determine absorbance with an arithmetic display section 16 from the transmission factor thus obtained. At the same time, the absorbance ratio of the consistency intensifier to the base oil is computed to determine and display the consistency from a characteristic curve of the absorbance ratio with respect to a blending ratio. This permits the measuring of the viscosity from a small amount of grease thereby enabling decision on a proper exchange timing depending on the degree of deterioration.</p>
