摘要 A Zn-Cu alloy contg. 56-64 wt.% Zn is claimed. The alloy may contain conventional copper alloying addns. such as Pb, Be, Sn, Ni and Fe and is pref. inert gas atomised at 907 deg.C or higher. USE/ADVANTAGE - The alloy is used in powder metallurgy for conventional brass applications, esp. for electrical equipment. It has a homogeneous fine structure obtd. by atomisation and rapid solidification, has electrical and thermal properties similar to brasses contg. 36-40 wt.% Zn and has similar mechanical and corrosion resistance properties while having lower cost and density. Grain refiner addns. are not reqd.
