A system and method for capturing an image through a light channel is disclosed. Light from an object to be imaged falls on one end of a reflective channel. The light exiting the other end is operated upon to recover an image of the object. Such operations are performed using optical or computational means. Applications of this invention include medical, industrial and surveillance applications.
