<p>PURPOSE: To record a high quality image even on a medium to be recorded having low surface smoothness, by providing a transfer part for transferring the image formed on a transfer recording medium to the medium to be recorded in a recording part, a separation means for separating the transfer recording medium after transfer from the medium to be recorded and the heat blocking means between a transfer part and the separation means. CONSTITUTION:For example, a recording head 3a is controlled corresponding to blue, magenta and white image signals to form a negative image on the transfer recording layer 1b of a transfer recording medium 1. This transfer recording medium 1 is fed and the transfer recording layer 1b having the image formed thereto is contacted with recording paper 8 under pressure in a transfer part 4 and heated to transfer a transfer image having blue and magneta colors to the recording paper 8.
