The transportable large-capacity charcoal kiln consists of a rectangular bin with a detachable cover. the floor of the bin is in the form of two layers of sheet metal, divided into a series of lengthwise air channels by vertical spacer partitions with apertures through tem. The lower sheet metal panel has air inlets controlled by hinged shutters. The metal panels making up the sides of the bin are reinforced by a series of rectangular corrugations, some of which are enclosed to create vertical ducts in the sides for the release of smoke. USE/ADVANTAGE - The bin can have a large capacity - over 80 cu.m. allowing it to be loaded with wood of a variety of lengths, producing charcoal in a process which can be controlled without highly-skilled personnel.
