The fire protection system for a house or group of houses having a swimming pool comprises an automatic system for pumping the swimming pool water over the protected area. The normal filtration system of the swimming pool includes an electromagnetic valve (3) which may divert water from the filtration circuit to a pump (4) driven by an electric motor (5) to pump the water through a nozzle (9) directed towards the property. A fire retardant additive may be added to the water from a reservoir (6) as it is pumped out. Heat detectors (8) in the vicinity of the building are used to control the system. USE - Protection of building against forest fire, with equipment which may be fitted to swimming pool as a kit.
