PURPOSE:To obtain the titled herbicide exhibiting broad herbicidal spectrum at a low rate of application by synergistic effect and safely usable without causing phytotoxicity to the dry field crops, by using a mixture of two kinds of components consisting of a novel N-arylpyrazole derivative and trifluralin, etc., as active components. CONSTITUTION:The objective herbicide contains, as active components, (A) an N-arylpyrazole derivative of formula (R1 is lower alkyl, lower alkenyl or lower alkynyl; R2 is CH3, halogen or nitro) (a novel compound) and (B) trifluralin (=alpha,alpha,alpha-trifluoro-2,6-dinitro-N,N-dipropyl-p-toluidine) or pendimethalin [= N-(1-ethylpropyl)-3,4-dimethyl-2,6-dinitroaniline]. The agent can be applied from the pre-sprouting stage to the initial sprouting stage of weeds, exhibits excellent herbicidal effect against various gramineous weeds and braod-leaved weeds and is free from toxicity to human, animal, fish and shellfish. |
