An apparatus for feeding sheet-like objects, in particular slide frames or slide frame halves, which are lined up in the form of a stack on transport bars, to a singling station has a store station for accommodating a plurality of "full" transport bars. These can be transported cyclically in the store station to a delivery area above a singling station. A buffer station for accommodating an intermediate stack of sheet-like objects is provided between the singling station and the store station. It is advantageous that the feed of the transport bars and the removal of empty transport bars can take place independently of the singling operation. Owing to the buffer station provided, the singling operation can proceed continuously even during the changing of bars.
