PURPOSE:To produce a spherical-shaped clay mineral, which is a bulking agent giving a excellent moldability to rubber or plastics and a compounding agent giving an excellent touch for use to a cosmetics by spray-drying an aqueous solvent dispersion of a clay mineral having a water swelling property. CONSTITUTION:The clay mineral having a water swelling property (e.g., a silicate mineral belonging to a smectite group such as a natural or synthetic monmorillonite, a saponite and a hectrorite, etc., is dispersed into an aqueous solvent and is gelled. On this occasion the dispersion liq. is preferable to contain the <=20wt% clay mineral having the water swelling property, more preferably 1-10wt%. Then the spherical shaped clay mineral is produced by spray-drying the dispersion liquid. Since the obtained clay mineral has a spherical shape, it is the excellent bulking agent giving a high moldability to plastics and rubber, etc., and the cosmetics having an excellent smoothy touch for use without variance is obtained by compounding it to the cosmetics as a dispersing and stabilizing agent. |
