An underroof for a sloping roof and comprising a moisture- absorbent layer 1, which on the top side is covered by a watertight, diffusion-open covering 2 and on the inner side has separate zones 3 having a diffusion-tight covering, these zones having such a size and positioning that, when the roof is radiated by sunlight, moisture is released by the underroof no more quickly than that the released moisture can be ventilated away from the bottom side of the underroof. <IMAGE>
