<p>1-(2-Hydroxy 3-propyl 4-(4-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)butoxy) phenyl)ethanone is made by (a) reacting 3-(4-acetyl 3-hydroxy 2-propyl)phenoxy propylene triphenyl-phosphorane with 1H-tetrazole 5-e carboxyaldehyde in presence of alkali metal salts, e.g. K tert. butoxide or phenyl lithium, to form 1-(2-hydroxy 3-propyl 4-(4-(1H-tetrazol -5-yl)3-buten-oxy) phenyl)ethanone; and (b) hydrogenating this in presence of a catalyst, e.g. Raney Ni, Pt, Pt oxide, in a solvent e.g. methanol or ethanol, at 20-150 deg.C under 1-8 atmos. pressure.</p> |
