PURPOSE:To attain a large gain with small size by sealing ionized gas in an enclosed space between two flat plates and providing an electrode terminal to opposed end parts of the side part of the flat plates. CONSTITUTION:A glass tube of flat plate shape is formed by overlapping the flat plates 1, 2 and the ionized gas 3 is sealed in the inside enclosed space. The electrode terminals 4, 5 are provided respectively to the opposed end parts of the side part of the flat plates. In connecting a power supply 6 and an ammeter 7 to the electrode terminals 4, 5 and irradiating a microwave 8 to the part sealed with the gas, a change occurs in the diode current as a gas discharge tube and the change is detected by the ammeter 7. The antenna receives the radiation of an SHF wave from a satellite or an earth broadcast station through the application of the principles of operation in this way. Thus, the area is saved easily and the gain is improved. |
