<p>PURPOSE:To obtain ethylene economically and technically and easily under mild conditions, by separating a mixed gas containing carbon monoxide, nitrogen and water, etc. with a solid adsorbent, constituted of a copper (I) halide, aluminum halide, etc., and stable to water. CONSTITUTION:A mixed gas containing oxygen, methane, ethane, carbon dioxide, hydrogen, water, etc. is brought into contact with a solid adsorbent constituted of a copper (I) halide, aluminum halide and crosslinked polystyrene resin to separate ethylene. The adsorption of the ethylene is carried out under ordinary pressure preferably at 0-40 deg.C. The adsorbed ethylene is released by heating the adsorbent to preferably 60-100 deg.C or reducing the partial pressure of the ethylene. The composition of the above-mentioned solid adsorbent is preferably as follows; 1-5mol ratio of the polystyrene and the monomeric residue of the derivative thereof to the copper (I) halide and 1.0-2.0mol ratio of the copper (I) halide to the aluminum halide.</p> |
