PURPOSE:To enable welding with satisfactory bead formation and high strength in spite of low heat input welding by confining the chemical compsn. of a coating material of low MgO contg. Li2O to be used for three o'clock one side welding to a specific system. CONSTITUTION:A welding rod 5 having a coating layer of a flux 6 is disposed to the groove part of steel rings 3 in the case of welding PC piles 1 having reinforcing steel bars 2 to each other at the point of the steel rings 3 at the ends thereof. The surface thereof is coated with the coating material 7 of the low MgO contg. the Li2O and the material 7 is fixed by a heat-resistant self-ad hesive tape 9 from the surface thereof. The chemical compsn. of the coating material 7 is confined to 30-70wt.% SiO2, 10-50% Al2O3, 0.1-5% MgO, and 0.1-5% Li2O and the total content of these components is confined to >=85%. Such coating material has a low m.p. and contributes to the formation of an adequate slag layer. |
