An air separator induced by an ascending flow eductor fitted to a main separating tank which receives a continuous flow of fluid divided into a plurality of aeration chambers, each aeration chamber being provided with eduction means through which gas is introduced into an ascending flow of water with oil and suspended solid contaminants in the continuous flow of fluid which adhere to the gas bubbles for collection in a layer of foam in the upper part of the tank. A V-shaped collection channel extending substantially along the length of the tank is also provided for extraction of the collected oil after the simple operation of a valve which enables the level of fluid within the tank with the oil foam and the suspended solids to rise and be extracted through the valve. A recirculating pump is also provided to recycle the effluent leaving the tank after the aeration process and a chemical injection mechanism for injecting a mixture of chemical flocculating agent which enters the main separating tank.
