The aforesaid compounds are prepared solvent-free from mono- or disaccharides (e.g. sorbitol, sucrose) and fatty acid esters (e.g. coconut, tallow oil, ethyl stearate, methyl oleate) in the presence of the transesterification catalyst, potassium carbonate, and 1-6% emulsifiers (phosphorylated mono- or diglycerides of fatty acids or fatty acid esters of mono- or disaccharides) at 100- 150 degree C. The reaction products can be used directly, or after decoloration (with a 1% by weight oxygenated water solution), as detergents, emulsifiers and foaming agents in cosmetics or as emulsifiers in the food industry. |
