<p>RATCHET WRENCH A ratchet wrench (1) having a top housing (3) and a first handle (2) cooperating with the top housing (3); a bottom housing (8) with a cooperating second handle (7); a ratchet drum (17) disposed within the top housing (3) and the bottom housing (8) and provided with exterior teeth (18) and a pair of side bevel gears (20 and 21) rotatably mounted on a shaft (22) in opposed relationship inside the ratchet drum (17); a top bevel gear (6) disposed inside the top housing (3) and extending inside the ratchet drum (17) to engage the side bevel gears (20 and 21); a drive bevel gear (12) rotatably positioned in the bottom housing (8) opposite the top bevel gear (6) and also engaging the side bevel gears (20 and 21) and carrying a socket drive (11) extending from the bottom housing (8); top and bottom ratchet means (24 and 31) mounted on the first and second handles (2 and 7), respectively and selectively cooperating with the teeth (18) on the ratchet drum (17); and pivoting handle lock means (38) for selectively allowing the first and second handles (2 and 7) to be manipulated as one handle or separately, to operate the ratchet wrench (1) in a more efficient manner.</p> |
