PURPOSE:To produce a dilution liquid suitable for the separation of anaerobe, especially obligate anaerobe, by using sodium sulfide as a reducing agent and increasing the concentration of the reducing agent compared with the concentration of conventional diluent. CONSTITUTION:A dilution liquid for the separation of anaerobe, especially obligate anaerobe such as methane-producing bacteria is produced by conventional method from an inorganic salt, agar, a reducing agent and purified water. In the above process, sodium sulfide or a mixture of sodium sulfide and L- cysteine is used as the reducing agent and the concentration of the reducing agent in the liquid is adjusted to >=0.05%. |
