PURPOSE:To store cooling energy with reduced refrigerator load, by dispersing a liq. halogenated hydrocarbon refrigerant which reacts with water to deposit hydrate crystals in an aq. alcohol soln. and then cooling so as to deposit hydrate crystals of the refrigerant in which crystals cooling energy is stored. CONSTITUTION:A liq. halogenated hydrocarbon refrigerant which reacts with water to deposit hydrate crystals (e.g., flon 11 or flon 12) is dispersed under agitation in an aq. alcohol soln., e.g., aq. ethanol soln. or aq. n-propanol soln. The soln. is cooled to deposit hydrate crystals of the halogenated hydrocarbon refrigerant in which crystals cooling energy is stored. If necessary, the hydrate refrigerant is decomposed, and air or a heat medium is cooled by the endothermic reaction caused thereby. This system can advantageously be used in air-conditioning of buildings, the refrigeration system for refrigerated warehouses, etc. |
