The derivs. of formula (I), in which R1 is a 4-fluorophenyl alkyl, 4-fluorophenyl ethyl or 4-fluorophenyl propyl gp. and R2 is a methyl 4-methoxy phenyl or propyl 4-methoxy phenyl gp., are made by reaction of a halo-alkyl 4-methoxy benzene of formula (II) with a 1-(4-fluorophenyl alkyl) 2-(4-piperidinyl- amino) benzimidazole of formula (III) in presence of an acid acceptor, e.g. an alkali metal alkoxide, in inert solvent, e.g. isopropanol at 80-120 deg.C R3 and R4 are 1-3C alkyl.
