A tubular component (1), such as a firebreak valve, for fitting inside a conduit, such as a ventilation duct, has a cylindrical sleeve (3) with a skirt (6) of substantially conically expanding bell shape, the extreme diameter of which exceeds that of a conduit into which it is to be fitted and the entire periphery of the skirt is divided by substantially axial slits (7) into a ring of resilient teeth (8) which extend substantially axially and overlap each other, whereby upon insertion into the conduit with the end remote from the teeth leading, the teeth "shrink" together and overlap more and more, until the extreme diameter is reduced to the exact internal diameter of the conduit (and accommodates to any mis-shaping, such as ovality) and secures and seals the tubular component therein. <IMAGE> |
