PURPOSE:To prevent the formation of projections to a photosensitive layer or the generation of cracks thereon and to improve durability by providing ruggedness having specific surface roughness to the rear surface of a belt base material. CONSTITUTION:The ruggedness 9 having the surface roughness of 0.6mum and below the thickness of the belt base material on the rear surface of the belt base material 3'. Foreign matter 6 such as toner enters the spaces between the rugged parts 9 or the ruggedness acts as a cushion when the foreign matter 6 is held in place between a roll 2 and the belt. The formation of the projections to the surface of a photosensitive layer 5 is prevented and even if the projections are formed, such formation is just slight and does not lead to the generation of the cracks. |
