PURPOSE:To obviate the expansion of a film cell by sandwiching two sheets of flexible substrates having sealing patterns between two sheets of rigid plates of a jig consisting of two sheets of the flat rigid plates disposed to face each other at a prescribed spacing and injecting a liquid crystal between the flexible substrates. CONSTITUTION:The empty film cell 1 is inserted into the spacing between the aluminum alloy sheets 21 and 22 of the jig 2 and an adhesive tape 5 for fixing is stuck to the end of the film cell 1 and the jig 2 to fix the film cell 1 to the jig 2. The film cell 1 which is held fixed to the jig 2 is placed in a bell-jar and the inside of the bell-jar is evacuated to a vacuum. The film cell 1 expands to the spacing (d) of the aluminum alloy sheets 21, 22 of the jig 2 but the deformation beyond the same is obviated by the rigidity of the aluminum alloy sheets 21, 22. An injection port 14 is thereafter immersed into a liquid crystal cell and the inside of the bell-jar is leaked to inject the liquid crystal into the film cell 1. The liquid crystal penetrates thoroughly in the film cell 1 in this case and since there are no damages of transparent electrodes, the liquid crystal display element having a good lighting display quality is obtd. |
