A cephem compound of the formula: wherein R<1> is amino or protected amino, R<2> is carboxy or protected carboxy, and R<3> is hydrogen or hydroxy-protective group, and pharmaceuticaiiy acceptable salts thereof processes for their preparation and pharmaceutical compositions comprising them. The invention relates also to compounds of the formula and processes for their preparation.
