The air rifle has a barrel rigidly secured to a stock with an air cylinder hinging on the latter, whose mouth bears against the barrel breech in the rest position. A cocking lever hinging on the stock slides a piston in the cylinder via a rod. The hinge axis (11) for the air cylinder (3) si to the rear of the breech (6) and clear of the axis of the barrel (2) in the opposite direction to that in which the cylinder swings outwards. The cocking rod (10) is guided in a straight line on the cylinder. ADVANTAGE - Simple, low cost and easy to operate.
