PURPOSE:To obtain a solid state image sensing device which can prevent an unnecessary external light from leaking and photoelectrically convert it in high sensitivity by providing a light shielding film having a hole in front of the photodetecting surface of a photoelectric converter, and providing a second cylindrical light shielding film for surrounding the outer periphery of an optical path to an external light photodetecting surface between the film and the photodetecting surface. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of photoelectric converters 2 and charge transfer means 4, 5 for transferring charges generated from the converters 2 are provided. A first light shielding film 6 having a hole for introducing an external light toward a photodetecting surface is provided substantially in parallel with the photodetecting means in front of the photodetecting surface of the converter 2. Further, second light shielding films 9', 9'' of cylindrical shape for surrounding the outer periphery of an optical path to the photodetecting surface of the external light is provided between the film 6 and the photodetecting surface. Thus, obliquely incident external light can be effectively introduced to the converter to prevent an unnecessary external light leakage, thereby reducing a smear, and the external light can be input as much as possible to be photoelectrically converted with high sensitivity. |
