Venetian blind actuated by lazy tongs linkage - which brings the slats to the vertical position as blind is extended

The slats of a Venetian blind are actuated by a lazy tongs-type linkage. Thelinkage consists of pairs of links (5a,5b) which are pivoted to each other at their midpoints (3) and the links of each pair are connected at their ends by pivots (71,7r) to the ends of links of an adjacent pair. Each pair of links supports a slat (17). Each slat has a rib projecting from each end of its undersurface. This rib is connected at one end to the pivot (7r) of the links whilst a slot (19) in the rib engages a pin in the link (5b). This slot is so shaped that when the lazy tongs linkage is fully extended the slats are brought to the vertical position. USE - Venetian blinds.
