The storage equipment for coils of material comprises frames along which a stacking machine travels. In addition to a load support (40), gripping the material coil (7), the machine (10) also has a feed mechanism (51) for the coiled material (9) and/or a shear (52) for it. It can also have a platform (26) movable at right angles to the travel direction of the chassis (12), on which is a lifting mast (13) with the load support.
