NEW MATERIAL:A YP-02908L-A compound expressed by the formula having following physicochemical properties. UV spectrum: no absorption in methanol; mass spectrography: 417(MH<+>) and 439(M+Na<+>) are detected by FAB-MS; molecular weight: 416; molecular formula: C24H32O6; appearance: white powder; [alpha]<25>D=+31 deg. (C=1, MeOH); melting point: melt at 159 deg.C while effervescing; acidic substance; soluble in methanol, ethanol, acetone, ethyl acetate, dichloromethane and chloroform and insoluble in water, n-hexane, etc. USE:An antibacterial agent against Gram-positive bacteria and an antitumor agent. PREPARATION:A YP-02908L-A compound-producing bacterium blonging to the genus Streptomyces [preferably streptomyces sp YP-02908L (FERM P-8610)] is cultured at 30 deg.C and pH6-8 for 1-5 days preferably under aerobic conditions. |
