<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a thin film transistor liquid crystal device (TFT-LCD) with high reliability by arraying electrostatic counterplan patterns for shorting a common electrode for a matrix part so as to remove them. CONSTITUTION:The TFT-LCD is constituted of liquid crystal 1, picture element TFTs 2, blocked TFTs 3, a matrix part 4, scanning signal electrode lines 5, and picture signal electrode lines 6, only earth lines 7 are shorted from respective signal lines GS1-GSn for respective TFTs 3 to electrostatic counterplan patterns E-F, but respective lines coupling the common electrodes for the matrix part 4 are extended and the extended lines 8 are shorted with the electrostatic counterplan patterns E, F at their edges. Thereby only the cutting between two sections out of the patterns E-G suffices for removing the patterns E-G and only the cutting of the earth lines 7 corresponding to respective TFTs 3 and the extended lines 8 for the common electrode suffices for cutting the matrix part 4, so that the number of cut lines is remarkably reduced.</p> |
