PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition, by using a specific nitromethylene derivative and specific carboxylic acid together, capable of cooperatively and synergistically enhancing the insecticidal activity thereof and particularly effective in controlling insect pests in paddy field and horticultural crops with hardly any phytotoxicity and toxicity. CONSTITUTION:An agricultural and horticultural insecticidal composition, obtained by blending (A) a compound expressed by formula I (X is halogen, alkyl or alkoxy; n is 0, 1 or 2; m is 2 or 3) with (B) at least one compound selected from compounds expressed by formula II (R<1> is lower alkyl or cyclopropyl which is each optionally substituted; R<2> is H or CN; X<1> and X<2> are H or halogen) in an amount of, e.g. 0.5-10pts.wt., preferably 0.1-5pts.wt. based on 1pt.wt. component (A) as active substances and capable of exhibiting excellent insecticidal activity. The above-mentioned composition is capable of effectively controlling the above-mentioned sensitive or resistant insect pests and has low toxicity to warm-blooded animals without any phytotoxicity to cultivated plants. |
