The invention relates to units making it possible to convert, accumulate and recover hydraulic and mechanical energy. They consists of hydraulic cavities 1, 2 with inlets/outlets in the shapes of a slit which are tangential with respect to their generatrices 3, 4, 5 and of fixed or rotary turbines 7-8 (which are solids of rotation) with identical inlets/outlets (partly coincident with the inlet/outlets of the cavities) 3, 4 of the spiral-shaped hydraulic ducts 6 (on the half-turbines 7, 8). Each half-turbine with slot-shaped inlet/outlet is submerged, on the slot side, inside the cavity. The units make it possible to convert, accumulate and recover hydraulic and mechanical energy with an efficiency close to 100%. Many of these units are homeostatic. The abstract is illustrated by the figure hereafter, in which the hydraulic duct of the turbine is represented as a solid body. <IMAGE>
