<p>PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of compression by adapting coding for luminance, hue and saturation signal for a color signal to other color signals using a line sequential color difference signal. CONSTITUTION:A color difference signal is delayed by one line by an analog line memory 20 and an output color difference signal (R-Y) of the line memory 20 and a color difference signal (B-Y) not delayed are obtained. The signals (R-Y), (B-Y) are converted into digital values by A/D converters 40a, 40b and inputted to a conversion table 5. On the other hand, the luminance signal Y is encoded to 8 bit by a A/D converter 60. The coded data is given to a mixer 70, where they are mixed and fed to other devices via a memory or a line. In comparison with 6-bit compression of (R-Y), (B-Y) signals respectively, the compression efficiency is improved more through the compression of H5 bits and C4 bits.</p> |
