<p>A method of depositing a metal on a surface, comprising the steps of exposing the surface to an acid etchant; exposing the surface to an alkaline solution containing palladium; exposing the surface to an electroless bath to deposit a layer of metal on the surface; and electroplating onto the metal on the surface an additional metal layer. In addition. the metal on the surface may be exposed to a solution of citric acid and sulfuric acid to make the metal tarnish-resistant.</p> |
