<p>PURPOSE:To improve switching delay of a packet by switching the packet by a channel number between a line switching unit to which the other terminal is connected through the line switching unit, and a packet switching unit. CONSTITUTION:A packet switching unit 110 is formed by a line switching type which can connect and disconnect a line at a high speed. A line switching system 107 and the packet switching unit 110 are connected by using a channel as a unit, and a connection to the packet switching unit 110 is executed from a terminal side by designating a connecting channel number. An address managing unit for holding a correspondence relation of logical addresses of terminals 101, 102 and an input/output channel number of the packet switching unit to which the terminals 101, 102 are connected through the line switching system 107 is placed, and as for the correspondence relation which is not held in the terminal side, it is inquired to the address managing unit. In such a way, the line can be connected and disconnected at a high speed, and a delay characteristic of a packet can be improved.</p> |
