PURPOSE:To form excellent electrostatic latent images by coupling a low-voltage side circuit and high-voltage side circuit, consituting a driving circuit, together through a capacitor, and by applying a power voltage to an electrode by turning on the transistor of the high-voltage side circuit in electrode drive. CONSTITUTION:While auxiliary voltage VC is applied to auxiliary electrode 1C, recording voltage VB is applied to recording electrode 1B and because R2 is much greater than R11 and R12, auxiliary voltage VC is applied to point P via electrostatic capacities C11 and C12 at the moment, so that potential VP at point P will nearly be eual to VC. Then, potential VP drops as shown in the figure because electrostatic capacities C11 and C12 are charged by a formed charging circuit via resistance R2. Therefore, applying recording voltage VB on the application of auxiliary voltage VC applies high voltage VC-VB to gap G at the moment, causing discharge. As a result, electrostatic capacity C2 of dielectric layer 2B right over recording electrode 1B is charged to form an electrostatic latent image. |
