PURPOSE:To increase the amount of ink applied for recording as the drop of ink liquid and to enable its supply to be satisfactorily carried out, by a method wherein a plurality of lines of ink cavities are formed on the surface of a piezo-electric material plate, and each ink feed port thereof is made to have the function of a check valve. CONSTITUTION:When a voltage is impressed between electrodes, a piezo-electric material is expanded and the volume in an ink cavity 12 is decreased. Consequently, the ink in the ink cavity 12 is sprayed in a liquid drop state from an ink nozzle 24. When the impressed voltage is removed, the piezo-electric material returns to the original shape. However, since the inside of the ink cavity 12 becomes negative in the pressure in that case, the check valve 48 of an ink feed port 40 is opened and the consumed ink is replenished. Then, when a voltage is again impressed between the electrodes, the check valve 48 is contacted with the edge part of an ink feed chamber at that time, and the ink feed port 40 is closed. Consequently, at the time when the volume of the ink cavity is decreased, the ink in the ink cavity is never refluxed into the ink feed chamber 36 through the ink feed port. |
