PURPOSE:To steadily and adequately retain the reforming reaction temperature by keeping heat balance of a reformer even when load is sharply varied by installing a control system in which load variation is detected and the amount of auxiliary fuel supplied to a burner of a reformer is feedforward-controlled based on the detected value. CONSTITUTION:When load is sharply increased, an auxiliary cell 5 is discharged to supplement the current shortage of a fuel cell 2, and the load current outputted from an inverter 4. On the basis of detected value of load current variation, the supply amount of auxiliary fuel, the supply amount of combustion air, and the supply amount of reforming raw material are increased by feedforward-control according to the load variation through a controller 19. In a reformer 1, the supply amount of auxiliary fuel is increased so that the shortage of offgas is compensated to increase the heating value of a burner, and the temperature of a catalyst layer is adequately retained by keeping heat balance. The reformer 1 retains high reforming rate and the amount of reforming gas supplied to the fuel cell 2 is increased. The fuel cell 2 follows increase in load to quickly increase the output. Thereby, operation control capable of quick response can be possible. |
