FIELD: coding and compression of video signal. ^ SUBSTANCE: method and system for image coding with the help of adaptive uneven coding based on context, according to which conversion coefficients are divided into units, which have unit size of 4nx4m (where n, m are positive whole numbers, equal to 1, or more than 1), every unit is scanned in a zigzag manner for obtaining of ordered vector of coefficients, with length of 16nxm, ordered vector is subjected to sub-discretisation in alternating manner for obtaining of sub-discretised series of conversion coefficients prior to coding of conversion coefficients with the help of statistic coder. ^ EFFECT: reduction of number of bits that are required for presentation of quantised coefficients that are produced after performance of unit conversion more than four by four. ^ 20 cl, 23 dwg |
