Fire-retardant counter-ceiling

A description is given of a fire-retardant counter-ceiling having profile carriers which are suspended from the room ceiling and by means of which ceiling elements are retained. In the case of said ceiling, respectively at least part of a ceiling element covers the profile carrier in a fire-retardant manner from beneath, and the butt joint of two adjacent ceiling elements on the underside of the counter-ceiling is arranged such that it is in each case laterally offset with respect to a profile carrier.
