<p>In displaying characters and graphics in an overlapped manner on a display unit, character data are arranged in rows, while graphic data are successively arranged in blocks for each of the lines by extracting the data of the same line following the order of the lines from each block that is obtained by dividing the picture into blocks equivalent to the rows used for the characters. The RAM utilization factor is improved without the need of providing the remainder of address for each of the lines at the end of data of lines in the graphic data that are provided so as to be shifted to the next line by shifting the upper digits of address.</p> |
