The subject matter of the invention is a photoelectric probe having a light-projecting device for emitting a transmitted light bundle and having a light-receiving device for a received light bundle arranged next to the light-projecting device. The transmitted light bundle and the received light bundle generated by reflection cross one another. A second light-receiving device (8) is arranged next to the light-projecting device (2). The received light bundle of the second light-receiving device and the transmitted light bundle likewise cross one another. Each light-receiving device (7, 8) contains two photoelectric receivers (9, 10; 11, 12) which are arranged next to one another and whose signals are respectively applied to a calculating circuit in such a way that it is only in the case of a reflecting object (15) which is located entirely or partly inside a detection zone (16) depending on the inclinations of the received light bundles with respect to the transmitted light bundle that two calculating circuits generate a specific combination of the output signals which does not occur in the case of an object or objects arranged outside the detection zone (16). <IMAGE>
